Djibouti Francs Banknotes
Djibouti is a small country located on the Horn of Africa. It is the third smallest country in Africa. Formerly called French Somaliland and French Territory of the Afars and Issas. The country took Djibouti as its name on June 27, 1977 when it gained its independence from France. Djibouti is home to one of the saltiest lakes in the world, Lake Assal, which is fed by hot springs and its salt is used for human consumption. Djibouti's population is made up of only two tribes: Afar and Issa.
